In all family law cases, our office bills on an hourly basis. We do offer a one-time paid consultation appointment, and the fee for that consultation is $100.00.
At the consultation appointment our office is able to discuss the specific facts of your case and the application of the current law to your specific situation. When attending the consultation appointment, you should bring with you any papers that have previously been filed with the court; copies of your most recent Federal and state tax returns with supporting documentation; your most recent pay stub or other current proof; a listing of the assets and debt acquired from date of marriage through date of separation; any prenuptial, postnuptial, or other agreements; any proposal for settlement that has been or that you wish to be made; and a list of any specific questions you wish to have answered at the appointment.
If you wish to retain our office to represent you in your family law matter, a retainer fee is typically requested. A retainer fee is an advance payment on the hourly rate for a specific case. Our office puts the retainer in a special trust account and deducts from that account the cost of services as they accrue. During the course of legal representation, you will receive periodic billing statements which reflect the amounts deducted from the retainer. Once the retainer falls below a certain amount, you will be requested to deposit additional funds.
There are also Court filing associated with most types of family law cases. These are fees the Court system charges. Our office can review the filing fees that may be associated with your case.
For your convenience, we accept payment by Visa or MasterCard.
